Our Story
The Silo Fund is a student-managed investment fund at UC Davis, held to the standards of institutional-grade investment management.
Most college finance clubs prepare you to talk about investing. Here, you build real theses, sit in real portfolio decisions, and are accountable for the outcome.
Our investment committee is where the real work happens. Members present written theses and defend them under direct questioning from the Board, sharpening the idea against real pushback, not a grade. Membership is earned through the quality of your thinking, not your résumé.
Philosophy
Each trade follows a strict process, spanning thesis construction, sizing, execution, and documented review regardless of outcome. Discipline is the strategy. Being right is the byproduct.
Disagreement is a feature of how we operate: major decisions require real alignment between our leadership, and if we can't agree, we don't trade.
What Makes Us Different
You build real investment cases: the business, the driver, the risks, and what would prove you wrong.
You sit in real portfolio decisions and are accountable for the outcome, not just the analysis.
You own the outcome of every position you bring, held to an institutional standard.
The Silo Fund was founded in 2026 by a small group of UC Davis students who wanted to build something more rigorous than a résumé-building club: an actual investment process, managed by students, held to institutional standards.
